Service Description

What Is Microdermabrasion? Microdermabrasion, or microderm, is a non-invasive, skin resurfacing procedure that gently exfoliates or polishes away the top layer of dead skin cells to reveal healthy glowing skin that looks and feels smoother. Fine lines, dull skin, acne scars, age and sun spots can be improved, especially with a series of treatments. Active products such as serums and moisturizers are much more easily absorbed and therefore more effective after microdermabrasion treatment. With microdermabrasion, there is no recovery time and no discomfort. How Does Microdermabrasion Improve The Skin? With the help of a microdermabrasion procedure, you will: Get rid of uneven skin tone and have a healthy glow and velvet touch Revitalize dull skin and improve the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, age or sun spots Diminish blackheads and closed comedones (underskin bumps) Maintain healthy and good-looking skin What Can I Expect After My Skin Peel? Some redness might occur, but it usually subsides within a few hours. If you receive two layers of microdermabrasion, your skin may also feel a bit dry, similar to the effect of a very mild sunburn. This is normal and it means that the regenerative process of skin cells is going on. You should moisturize your skin more often and soon you will enjoy new fresh skin. What Type Of Home Care Should I Use After Microdermabrasion? You will have to use a sunblock of a minimum of SPF 30 and moisturize your skin a minimum of two times a day (even if your skin is oily). Try to avoid sun exposure for at least a couple of days after the treatment, and don't use any AHA products (lactic, glycolic acid), as well as retinol products for the next 3-4 days. Good-quality mineral makeup can be used the same day, but it is not recommended to apply full-face makeup with foundation and/or pressed powder. Contraindications that may Make Microdermabrasion Unsuitable for You: Eczema, dermatitis, lupus, inflamed acne Active rosacea and fragile capillaries Recent laser resurfacing Accutane acne treatment Excessive sun exposure How Many Treatments Do I Need? Your skin will look smoother, brighter, and healthier even after the first microdermabrasion treatment, but major changes (like reduction of hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles) become visible after four treatments, especially if combined with the other treatment.
